I support professional women of color in quieting their negative self-talk and stepping into confidence, ease, and self-trust.
Just like you, my clients seem just fine on the outside, but on the inside are struggling with debilitating negative self-talk. Despite the fact that they’ve achieved success in the eyes of others, have overcome many obstacles to get where they are, and have people in their lives that love them, they hardly ever feel like they're enough.
Negative self-talk impacts every aspect of my clients lives…
At work it shows up as over-preparing for meetings, feeling worried that they’ll be exposed as “not good enough”, feeling drained from constantly proving they’re worth in predominantly white or cis-male spaces, or holding back from applying for promotions or new opportunities due to self-doubt.
In relationships & social settings it shows up as always worrying they said something wrong or sounded “stupid”, struggling to accept compliments, or feeling like you need to shrink yourself to be accepted, or feeling like being around them is a burden or too much.
Emotionally & mentally they’re exhausted from carrying the weight of never feeling good enough, they beat themselves up for resting or taking time for themselves, feel like they need to perfect to be worthy of love, success, or happiness, and deep down they may feel shame for not being as “put together” as they think they should be.
If any of this resonates with you, know that you are not alone. You don’t have to keep living under the weight of a harsh inner-critic.
How I Can Support You
I’ve helped my clients:
Bring awareness to the origins and even the hidden benefits of these critical messages.
Increase their self-respect and self-compassion for what they’re going through.
Cultivate a healthier inner voice that actually lifts them up, rather than tears them down.
Now, imagine this…
Going to work with the deep knowing that you are already valuable, without needing to prove your worth.
Contributing and creating from a place of enough-ness, instead of fear or self-doubt.
Feeling at ease in social settings, free from overanalyzing what you said, wore, or how you showed up.
Ending the day with peace instead of self-criticism, knowing that you are already whole, already worthy.
Appreciating and loving yourself just as you are.
I have eight years of experience supporting women of color in breaking free from negative self-talk, and I would love to support you, too. Let’s connect: Send me an email, and we’ll schedule a complimentary consultation to see if we’re the right fit.
My Healing Journey
I am passionate about supporting professional women of color in being able to see their innate value. Perhaps like you, I have overcome a lot in my life including familial trauma along with systemic trauma and marginalization as a Black woman and lesbian. I’m 43 years old and have spent the last 25 years or so committed to not only healing but actually thriving in my life. Through the course of my healing journey I’ve come to realize just how much I've internalized external messages of not being enough. Paying attention to how I talk to myself and treat myself has been the single most impactful thing I’ve ever done in my life. I’m also passionate about including body oriented healing practices as well as mindfulness into therapy which results in a healing process that feels nourishing to the mind, body, and soul.
