Description:

Be Your Own Therapist is a small group experiential workshop that utilizes psychological concepts, somatic resources, and energy clearing to provide a healing experience that you’ll be able to incorporate into your daily life. We will explore topics such as nervous system regulation, your life story and themes, and the cultivation of self-respect and self-compassion. 

Each of the three days will include a teaching component, followed by guided exercises so that you can learn from your own experience and body awareness. Journaling, art, natural body movement, and energy clearing will support your learning and healing process. 

This workshop will be lovingly facilitated by licensed somatic therapists Lawanda and Phoenix Jackson.

This workshop is for you if…

  • You’re struggling with anxiety, depression, or a harsh inner critic 

  • Something is stopping you from creating the life you want

  • Maintaining healthy, satisfying relationships seems difficult

  • You want professional support but don’t want to do traditional 1-1 therapy

  • You’re able to be present for all 3 meetings

This workshop is not for you if…

  • You’re not interested in doing deep emotional and somatic self exploration

  • You don’t want be in a small group setting

  • You’re currently in a physical, emotional, or mental health crisis.

  • You’re not able to commit to all 3 meetings

  • Learn scientifically proven psychological and somatic (body oriented) practices to improve your sense of inner safety and nervous system regulation. You’ll be able to incorporate these skills into your daily life to soothe yourself through the ups and downs and to improve your ability to respond to a given moment mindfully rather than reacting in a way that you may later regret or that keeps you in the same unwanted circumstances. 

  • Explore your life story through journaling, art, body awareness, and easeful, gentle body movement. By taking a look at where you are and where you’ve been with curiosity and kindness, you’ll be better positioned to create the life and relationships you really want.

  • Learn a multi-step process for viewing yourself, your past, unwanted patterns, and life circumstances with more self-respect, and self-compassion. This process will give you the tools to Be Your Own Therapist so you feel more capable of navigating difficult times and feel a greater sense of self empowerment and possibility.

  • Be guided and supported by 2 licensed somatic therapists.
